The Importance of a Libero

Growing up as a kid, volleyball has always and forever will be my favorite sport. I love volleyball because it is a team sport and you don’t play on your own, so you have to rely on your team. All of the different positions are equally important, but I am going to write about my favorite position: the libero.

The libero is the main defensive player, normally you will see her in a different colored shirt than the other players, that’s because her position is special. A libero will typically play either left back or middle back and act as the anchor to a teams defense. The libero is a free substitution, and based on the rules of the league, this enhances the game. The entry of a libero into the game (and replacement of the player that was substituted for the libero) does not count towards the total sub limit. A libero can also sub in for different players as long as they sit through a half rotation. The libero is an important player as they play defense for the middle blocker in the back row who is usually the tallest and worst at defense. By focusing on the defense and passing with a single role, the libero allows teams to have more specialized attacking players. Liberos are the ones who receive the ball when the opponent serves and should properly receive it to achieve a good first ball. They play an important role when it comes to floor defense. They are the ones who keep the ball alive. Most liberos are averaging 5 flat of height because it’s easier for them to crawl or dive for the ball than those tall players.

Why Nurses Are Powerful

Nurses are on the front lines of administering and evaluating a patients treatment. If you’re a patient, nurses are your greatest advocate. Because they spend more time with you, nurses can comprehensively moderate your progress. They know what symptoms might be a red flag and can assess the effectiveness of treatment. Then they communicate all of this to your doctor. Nurses also provide invaluable emotional support. They understand the complexities and implications of an illness. They can counsel you and your family through everything from understanding a chronic condition to coping with death and dying. Nursing is a true calling and I believe it is calling on me.

Why I want to become a nurse

I believe that it takes a special kind of person to be a nurse — someone who strives to be part of the healing process and is passionate about his or her job. Someone who pays attention to detail is very flexible and ready to give their all. Nurses do so much more than giving medicine and treating wounds; they care about the patients they attend for, by helping them improve, better, and strengthen their lives and disease outcomes. Not only do I fit all of those qualities, but I believe that I have even more to offer. I want to become a nurse because I crave to make a difference in the world and want to change and touch lives. Modern medicine and its advancements strongly influence and continuously amaze me. I want to become a nurse and help people because excellent nursing care and modern medicine helped my grandfather live another twenty-five years. At the age of fifty-four, he had suffered a major heart attack and then had to have five bypasses. In those twenty-five years, he continued to have heart disease, but with the proper medical care, he continued to live. He got to see all three of his daughters marry, his son start his own business, and meet all six of his grandchildren. He recently passed this Christmas of 2018 at the age of seventy-nine because of a heart attack. After witnessing my grandfather go through these hard times, and seeing how much patience and support his medical team had given him truly inspires me to become a kindhearted and caring person like them. As a nurse, I believe I will have the chance to leave a positive mark on someone’s life almost daily. Choosing to go into nursing as my future profession can offer myself a meaningful career, filled with many opportunities, challenges, and tons of rewards. To me, becoming a nurse means becoming a caregiver, and as a caregiver, I can provide hands-on care to my patients in a variety of different settings. As a nurse, my job will be to maintain a patient’s dignity while providing knowledgeable and skilled care.

Study Tips For College

To many of us, learning something new, from programming a web page or speaking a new language is a chore. Studying can be a pain especially for those who struggle to find motivation to do it. Burnout and procrastination can strike fast and cause you to start getting distracted. To keep your visions and goals of having good grades in college here are 7 good tips/rules to follow when studying!

  1. Good Notes=Good Grades: The connection between good notes and good study habits is undeniable. Taking good notes doesn’t come naturally to everyone. The trick is to take down the key points of the lecture without writing down too much extra info.
  2. Stay Organized: Keep a detailed calendar with all your classwork, social events and extracurricular activities. This way, you can block out time each day to study.
  3. Unplug and Reconnect: This can be tricky, since most students use their computers for virtually all their homework. The Internet is the worst distraction there is, and limiting time on it is one of the best study tips for college students.
  4. Don’t Cram: Good study habits come from pacing yourself. Try to study a little bit each day, rather than saving it all for the week before the exam.
  5. Don’t Over Study:  Time management is essential. Make sure you’re studying the key ideas of each lecture or textbook chapter, and avoid absorbing useless information.
  6. Find Your Zone: Everyone has their perfect study environment. For some, it’s a quiet reading room, while others prefer the bustle of a coffee shop. Some like to listen to music while they study, and some need complete silence. Try a few different kinds of environments and see what works for you.
  7. Take/Give Yourself A Break!: Take a ten-minute break every hour or so, and try to take a day or two off per week if you can. It’ll help you stay energized and at peak mental condition.
